Frequently Asked Questions
- How does online tutoring work?
-
It is a very easy process. We will use a free virtual whiteboard called bitpaper. www.bitpaper.io. This whiteboard allows us to:
- See and hear each other.
- See each other’s work as we virtually write on the screen with a digital drawing tablet, mouse, or by using a touchscreen
- Look at math related information on the internet at the same time
- Send each other pictures of anything math related. This is especially handy when the student needs to show me a problem from their book or homework.
-
Is there any technology that I will need to purchase?
-
Bitpaper is free. However, I recommend that you purchase a digital drawing tablet that you will use with your computer. It makes writing on the whiteboard so much easier than with a mouse or by using a touchscreen.
-
Which digital drawing tablet should I purchase?
-
There are many types and prices. Shop around for what your student might like. Below are links to suggested digital drawing tablets to purchase.
-
How do I pay for the sessions?

-
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a tutoring session?
-
If you cancel or reschedule more than 24 hours before the session, you will not be charged for the missed session. Once per calendar quarter, one cancellation given within 24 hours of tutor session will not be charged the session fee. Every session after the first one that is cancelled within 24 hours during that calendar quarter will be charged the full session fee amount.
-
What if I am late to the session?
-
The session begins at the agreed upon time. Your student may join anytime after the session begins but the session will end on time.
-
What do I need in order to be prepared for the session?
-
You will need your textbook for every session with any homework you need to work on. If you have any worksheets that you want us to work on, you can scan and email them to me before we begin a session and then we can work on them together. You can also take a picture of problems and text them to me.

About me
-
I have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics from the University of Florida. I am a State of Florida certified math teacher. I have taught middle school, high school and homeschool. I have tutored off and on throughout the 30 years since I graduated from college. This year I left the classroom and am tutoring math full time. I am excited to be able to help students one on one and know that the results will be dramatic. My outside interests are reading, exercising, and spending time with my family.
